Handover Checklist
A clean handover saves time, reduces future troubleshooting, and ensures your system remains supportable for years to come.
Why Handover Matters
Missing labels or documentation can turn a simple issue into a long, expensive site visit.
When a renovation finishes, the quality of the handover defines how easy the system will be to maintain. We recommend ensuring all the following items are provided by your contractors before final sign-off.
What to Hand Over
Essential items for a complete technology handover.
Cable Labels
Clear, durable labels at both ends of every run (cabinet and room) are non-negotiable.
As-Built Notes
Documentation of any route changes or deviations from the original design plans.
Construction Photos
Photos of open walls and ceilings before they were closed to identify cable paths later.
Rack & Power Map
A clear layout of the network cabinet and mapping of which devices are on which power circuits.
Wi-Fi AP Locations
A floor plan showing the exact location of every Wi-Fi access point and its cable ID.
ISP & Device Info
Modem/ONT handoff locations, ISP account details, and a device IP list if available.
